Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest place to buy Bitcoin?

At the entry fee tier, OKX has the lowest market-order (taker) fee in this comparison at 0.10%, level with Binance and Bybit. Outside the US, Coinbase Advanced also charges 0.10% in most countries. Fees fall as your 30-day trading volume grows.

Where can I buy Bitcoin in the US?

Coinbase and Kraken serve US residents directly. Binance.com, Bybit and HTX do not; Binance.US and OKX US are separate companies that do serve the US.

What is the difference between maker and taker fees?

A market order, or a limit order that fills at once, takes liquidity and pays the taker fee. A limit order that waits on the order book adds liquidity and pays the lower maker fee when it fills.

Why does the simple “Buy” button cost more?

One-tap buy screens charge a flat fee or a spread on top of the price (Kraken’s Instant Buy is 1%). Buying on the exchange’s advanced or pro order book costs only the maker or taker fee shown here.

Are there other costs?

Card deposits often carry a payment fee, withdrawing coins to your own wallet costs a network fee, and some exchanges discount fees paid in their own token. This table compares trading fees only.
